Located at the corner of Union Avenue and 1st street , the Pueblo Convention Center is the scene of many important events in Pueblo. In 2000 a sold out crowd honored the Congressional Medal of Honor winners who held their annual convention here. Pueblo is known as "The Home of Heroes" as it is the hometown of four Medal of Honor winners. A memorial consisting of four larger-than-life bronze sculptures of the medal winners honors the four larger-than-life home town men who courageously and selflessly served their country.
